Adamson and Sunset are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Leopards will welcome the Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunset took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Adamson, who comes in off a win.
Adamson will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Samuell on Tuesday. The Leopards put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 16-1 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Leopards' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Hector Juanez and Jayden Najera made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Juanez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Najera pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. At the plate, Juanez went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Najera went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Juanez a new career-high.
In other batting news, Aiden Conejo was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Julian Ortiz, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Adamson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Sunset fell victim to Ennis and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bison's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Adamson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Sunset, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2-1.
Adamson got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Sunset by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Leopards repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
