North Central I recap Oct. 23, 2012
Lower Lake moved up to 938 from 985 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in North Central I. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of beating Cloverdale 26-7.
St. Helena extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Clear Lake, 26-13. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
St. Helena's Richard Hoppe and Joey Brink have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hoppe has thrown for 1338 yards this season, while Brink, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 25 catches for 541 yards. Kelseyville's Robert McLean leads the league in rushing yards with 563.
The top two teams in North Central I will face off this week when first place St. Helena takes on second place Fort Bragg. Last week, Brandon Farrell's team beat the Cardinals, while Fort Bragg bested Willits.
The Timberwolves and the Wolverines played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Timberwolves eventually emerging with a 33-32 victory.
