The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Tug Valley Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Tygarts Valley is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Tygarts Valley lost to Pendleton County on the road by a decisive 44-28 margin. Tygarts Valley has not had much luck with Pendleton County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Tygarts Valley had strong showings from Summer Lewis-Smith, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds, and Alyssa Swecker, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Lewis-Smith is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Tug Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 83-20 loss at the hands of East Fairmont. Tug Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.
