Middleburg is a perfect 3-0 against Interlachen since February of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Broncos will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Middleburg has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Tuesday, Middleburg needed a bit of extra time to put away Stanton. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Blue Devils. While the Broncos didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Johnny DeAntonis made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. DeAntonis was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other pitching news, Jonah Quesenberry tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Koen Hester, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cole Conte, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Interlachen fell victim to Williston and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 11-0 to the Red Devils. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Middleburg's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of five runs across that stretch. As for Interlachen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Interlachen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Middleburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. It's a different story for Interlachen, though, as they've only averaged .277. Will they be able to contain Middleburg's hitters?
Middleburg beat Interlachen 5-0 in their previous meeting back in February. Do the Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
