Despite their defeat, Bendle saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. AJ Patterson, who went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most points Patterson has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Mattis, who posted 12 points and six boards.
Meanwhile, Genesee had to endure a 19-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 45-35 win over Flint Southwestern Academy on Friday.
Genesee's win came from a few key players Bendle will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Qusai Bannoura, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Aydin Cooper was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.
Genesee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bendle hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.7 points per game. It's a different story for Genesee, though, as they've been averaging only 36 points. The only thing between Bendle and another offensive beatdown is Genesee. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Bendle took their win against Genesee in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 66-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bendle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
