It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Windsor Yellowjackets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Brattleboro out 68-65. The victory was some much needed relief for Windsor as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Brattleboro had strong showings from Jackson Emery, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Jack Cady, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Cady scored 15 or more points. Karson Elliott was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Brattleboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win got Windsor back to even at 5-5. As for Brattleboro, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Windsor will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodstock at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Woodstock is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Brattleboro, they will challenge Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Vermont (Mt. St. Joseph Academy is ranked 50th, while Brattleboro is ranked 35th).
