The Olympus Titans pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Snow Canyon by a score of 58-56. Olympus found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 10 to 1 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Olympus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joss Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds. Baker scored a full 37.5% of Olympus' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Adee Shimoda was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Snow Canyon can attribute much of their success to Olivia Hamlin, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was Hamlin's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Jensen, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Olympus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Snow Canyon, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Olympus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Hurricane at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Hurricane is ranked 67th, while Olympus is ranked 70th). As for Snow Canyon, they will square off against Springville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
