Basketball Game Preview: Wyandotte Bulldogs vs. Highland Park Scots

Wyandotte hasn't had much luck against Highland Park recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wyandotte Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Highland Park Scots at 7:00 p.m. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Wyandotte is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 60-24 win over Schlagle. With the Bulldogs ahead 38-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Wyandotte found their leader in sophomore Jaida Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Germya Sanford, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Wyandotte was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Highland Park over Turner in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Highland Park blew Turner out of the water with a 76-18 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Scots had established a 56 point advantage.

The victory got Wyandotte back to even at 2-2. As for Highland Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Wyandotte took a serious blow against Highland Park in their previous matchup back in February, falling 66-32. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Highland Park's Pearmella Carter, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 18 boards.
