Basketball Recap: River Hill Extends Winning Streak to Three

River Hill had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down the Hammond Golden Bears 56-42. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Bears, too.

River Hill had a senior duo take command as Justin Bishop went 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds and Anderson Dang dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Bishop is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Kogut, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

River Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

River Hill's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Hammond, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

River Hill has already played their next match, a 79-57 defeat against Howard on the 13th. As for Hammond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-36 loss against Milford Mill Academy on the 13th.
