Kingwood Christian will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Evangel Christian in at 7:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Kingwood Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Pickens Academy 34-0. Kingwood Christian was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian took care of business in their home opener. They steamrollered Evangel Christian Academy 48-0.
Their wins bumped Evangel Christian to 1-0 and Kingwood Christian to 1-0. With both Kingwood Christian and Evangel Christian swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
