After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Angleton, the Friendswood Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 win over Magnolia West. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Friendswood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brock Foster led the charge by throwing for 518 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Adam Buffington also helped out with an impressive 229 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Magnolia West still got an impressive performance from Bryson Broadway, who threw for 406 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. Brandon Taylor also helped out as he racked up 111 receiving yards.
Friendswood's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Magnolia West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Friendswood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Magnolia West will head out on the road to face off against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 817th, while Magnolia West is ranked 252nd).
