Last Thursday, Crosspoint Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Victory Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 53-49 win. The win was just what Crosspoint Christian needed coming off of a 83-39 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Jace Stroup, who scored 23 points along with six steals and five assists. Asher Weldy was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty Christian Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They really took it to Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-23 win on the road. The victory was just what Liberty Christian Academy needed coming off of a 61-37 loss in their prior contest.
Liberty Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Willy Mueller, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jack Duvel, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
The victory got Crosspoint Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Crosspoint Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 35.2% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Liberty Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've made 40.4% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Crosspoint Christian took a serious blow against Liberty Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 70-28. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Crosspoint Christian was down 38-18.
