Wichita Defenders HomeSchool posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over Veritas Christian.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy's 15-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool 43-37. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool is ranked 60th).
Wichita Defenders HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for St. Mary's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Wichita Defenders HomeSchool didn't have too much breathing room in their match against St. Mary's Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 68-64 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wichita Defenders HomeSchool since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
