Even though the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, the San Carlos Braves still came out on top. San Carlos came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans and snuck past 63-61. The win made it back-to-back wins for San Carlos.
San Carlos found their leader in underclassman Leshawn Browning, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Browning has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Emica Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
San Carlos' victory bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-13.
San Carlos will head out on the road to square off against the Roadrunners at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Tan Charter will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. Gilbert Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
