Among those leading the charge was Karsen Cherry, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Kendall Williamson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Smoky Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dayritzis Chinea. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Chinea has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Mahar, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Tuscola's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Smoky Mountain, they bumped their record down to 6-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Tuscola will take on West Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Smoky Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against East Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kaylee Foushee and Greenlee Flynn.
