The Northwest Christian Crusaders won the last time they faced the Camp Verde Cowboys, and things went their way on Friday too. Northwest Christian walked away with a 63-51 victory over Camp Verde. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northwest Christian.
Despite the defeat, Camp Verde had strong showings from Jordan Mcmahon-fullmer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds, and Julian Perez, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Mcmahon-fullmer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games.
Northwest Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Camp Verde, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bourgade Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Bourgade Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Northwest Christian is ranked 90th). As for Camp Verde, they will head out on the road to square off against Fountain Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fountain Hills is on a four-game streak of home wins, Camp Verde a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
