Volleyball Recap: Bishop Moore Comes Up Short

Bishop Moore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timber Creek Wolves. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

While Bishop Moore ultimately came up short, they really made Timber Creek work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 27-25, 21-25, 25-23.

Loss or not, Bishop Moore got some senior leadership from Marc Francis Callejas and Jose Rubero. Callejas had 22 digs and one assist, while Rubero had 18 assists and four digs. Those 18 assists set a new season-high mark for Rubero. Alberto Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Leading Timber Creek to victory were Chase Jordan and Jack Billman. Jordan had 24 assists and 12 digs, while Billman had 23 assists and eight digs. Jordan is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season.

Bishop Moore's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Timber Creek, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Bishop Moore has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Lake Nona on the 13th. As for Timber Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Apopka on the 12th.
