The Lyndhurst Golden Bears will head out to  square off against the Westwood Cardinals  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Lyndhurst took a ten-run  loss the last time they faced off against Hawthorne, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Bears skirted past the Bears  5-4. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Bears as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Westwood hadn't done well against Northern Highlands recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Highlanders  5-4.
 Ella Ianni spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Caroline Rome, who  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Kaitlyn McKay also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen bases of the season.
 Lyndhurst's record is now 6-10. As for Westwood, they now  have a winning record of 10-9.
 Lyndhurst might still be hurting after the  16-4 defeat they got from Westwood  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Can the Golden Bears avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
