Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Central

Central proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 12) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Centennial Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cobras have posted against the Eagles since March 5, 2021.

Justin Glickman looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nathaniel Morel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Central is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7-1 otherwise.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Central, bringing their record up to 10-7-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.75 runs across that stretch. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1.

Coming up, Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Westwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.87 runs per game on average), something the Cobras will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Centennial, they will head out to challenge Dwyer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
