Mountain Valley recap November 5, 2013
Citrus Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 505 from 562 this week, the biggest jump in Mountain Valley. The Blackhawks were able to move up by defeating Rim of the World 21-14.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Jurupa Hills beat Rubidoux 31-20. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Damion Wright threw for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 14-23 with 1 interception.
Brett Kokesh was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 138 yards as Citrus Valley beat the Fighting Scots. Steven Armenta also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Leading Mountain Valley in both passing and receiving yards, Notre Dame's Paul Bradvica and Anthony McMaster have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Bradvica has thrown for 2,134 yards this season, while McMaster has 37 catches for 641 yards. Jamie Taylor from Rim of the World leads the league in rushing with 1,641 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Titans and Jurupa Hills face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Edward Mcmillon's team takes on Notre Dame. The Spartans are currently in first, while Peter Mc Gowan's team is in fourth.
Pete Smolin's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,007 from 7,705. The advance stemmed from a 21-14 victory over Bob Gradillas' team last week.
