Baseball Recap: Ridge Community Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ridge Community had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Haines City Hornets a 12-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Bolts as they're now sitting on five straight.

Edger Olmeda looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Adrian Cuadrado was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Deniel Serrano was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Ridge Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ridge Community's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Haines City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Coming up, Ridge Community will take on Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Haines City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
