The Ukiah Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 80-41 victory over Healdsburg. Winning may never get old, but Ukiah sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Leading Ukiah to victory were Tony Zacarias and Omaurie Phillips-Porter. Zacarias scored 19 points along with three steals, while Phillips-Porter scored 25 points along with three steals. Zacarias continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Mathis, who scored ten points.
Ukiah's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Healdsburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Ukiah won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. Mt. Eden will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 598th, while Ukiah is ranked 189th). As for Healdsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Vincent de Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
