Baseball Recap: Corvian Community Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Corvian Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Langtree Charter Academy Lions 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since March 6th.

Brennan Frey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Corvian Community saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Gilmore, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

With the win, Corvian Community broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-12. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
