This season hasn't been kind to the Independence 76ers, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 82-35 loss at the hands of Walnut Ridge. Independence was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-21.
Several 76ers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samaj Williams, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Amari Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Independence bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Walnut Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Independence won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Walnut Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Africentric Early College at 7:00 p.m. Africentric Early College is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
