The Douglas Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Sahuarita Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Douglas posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Amphitheater out 38-35.
Scarlette Ruiz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with five steals and two blocks. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Keyra Espinosa was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Sahuarita can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Walden Grove 67-13 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Sahuarita has posted since December 11, 2023.
Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Sahuarita, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Douglas beat Sahuarita 67-56 in their previous meeting on January 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Douglas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
