It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vero Beach had no problem doing just that  on Friday. They took down the Lake Nona Lions 21-7. The  victory was familiar territory for the Indians who have now won seven  contests in a row.
 Vero Beach found their leader in freshman  Champ Monds, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards. 114 of  Monds' passing yards were hauled in by Xavier Stinson, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 Vero Beach pushed their record up to 7-3 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.8 points per game. As for Lake Nona, they moved to 7-4 with that  defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 Vero Beach will head out to  square off against Palm Beach Central  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Palm Beach Central will roll in looking for their  tenth straight  victory, something Vero Beach surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Nona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
