The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will face off against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tamaqua is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mahanoy Area on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The Blue Raiders haven't had any issues with the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Tamaqua got a massive performance out of Leah Crowley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Crowley has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kolbe Robb, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2.
Tamaqua always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley entered their tilt with Marian Catholic on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Marian Catholic.
Kora Rodichok spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Mady Schwalm was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassi Snyder, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.
Tamaqua's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tamaqua hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tamaqua might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Blue Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
