Softball Recap: Holmes Gets the Win

Holmes's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Warren Warriors 3-2. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lauren Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits. Those hits marked the first that she's allowed this season.

At the plate, Holmes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Olvera, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI was Olvera's first of the season.

Holmes now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Warren, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Holmes will take on Sotomayor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Warren, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stevens at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
