Another player making a difference was Rylee Corn, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nucla). They blew past Telluride 76-9 on Friday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Nucla's win came from a few key players Genoa-Hugo/Karval will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kendra McCluer, who dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay Snyder, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 21 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.
Nucla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 38 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Nucla is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points on average over those games. Genoa-Hugo/Karval pushed their record up to 12-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
