Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Central). They wrapped up 2024 with a 53-37 win over the Loomis Wolves. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Bridget Lewis was her usual excellent self, putting up 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. She also grabbed five steals, which is notable because North Central is 2-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Karlene Kepler, who posted eight points and six boards.

North Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Loomis had strong showings from Camry Anderson, who had nine points, and Natalie Kegley, who put up six points and six boards. Those six points gave Kegley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeigh Booe, who posted four points and seven rebounds.

The victory got North Central back to even at 4-4. As for Loomis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

North Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-39 defeat against O'Neill on the 28th. As for Loomis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-46 loss against St. Paul on the 28th.
