The Clifton-Clyde Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-53 win over Doniphan West. The victory was some much needed relief for Clifton-Clyde as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Clifton-Clyde found their leader in underclassman Sevy Wurtz, who scored 32 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Wurtz has scored at least a third of Clifton-Clyde's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Hammond, who scored 15 points.
Clifton-Clyde's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-3. As for Doniphan West, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Onaga the next time they take the court. Doniphan West will host Onaga at TBD on Tuesday, while Clifton-Clyde will host them at TBD on Friday.
