The North Stanly Comets put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Monroe at home to the tune of 74-19. Fans of North Stanly have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Shalyn Bell was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 42 points, 23 rebounds, and 10 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of North Stanly's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giavonna Dunlap, who scored 7 points along with 11 assists and 4 steals.
North Stanly's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Monroe, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Stanly will take on Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monroe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee Park Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
