Softball Recap: Seminole Takes a Loss

After flying high against DeLand last Friday, Seminole came back down to earth. The Seminoles fell just short of the Lake Howell Silverhawks by a score of 9-8 on Monday. Even though they lost, the Seminoles' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Seminole saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Green, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Madie Baker was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Seminole's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lake Howell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminole will challenge Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Howell, they will square off against Deltona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Silverhawks 3.5, the Wolves 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
