On Saturday, North Raleigh Christian Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Metrolina Christian Academy 57-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.
Khloe Moye was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Raleigh Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Presley Ray, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and five assists.
North Raleigh Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cary Academy had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 31-23 win over St. Thomas More Academy back in December of 2024.
North Raleigh Christian Academy better keep an eye on Annalise Dematteis. She was instrumental in Cary Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dematteis has scored at least a third of Cary Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Phillips, who had four points.
The victory got Cary Academy back to even at 6-6. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North Raleigh Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Cary Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
