Whiteland fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Greenwood  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result.  At the plate,  Ethan King was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Brendan Bailey, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Whiteland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Greenwood,  the  win  got them back to even at 2-2.
 Whiteland will head out on the road to  face off against  Plainfield at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Franklin Community at 1:00  p.m.
