North Posey is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Washington is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Vikings will host the Hatchets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Wednesday, North Posey got the win against Evansville Central by a conclusive 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Colby Angel was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jed Galvin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
North Posey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Washington fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Princeton on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 12-11.
Ben Merold was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Zach Frady was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
North Posey has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
North Posey was able to grind out a solid victory over Washington in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 13-9. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Hatchets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
