The Montgomery Catholic Knights will take on the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Montgomery Catholic walked away with it. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 24-14 on Friday. Given Montgomery Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while T.R. Miller is ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caleb Mccreary continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 116 yards and a touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Josh Griffin, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville earned a 28-21 win over Bibb County on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Jacksonville.
Jacksonville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jim Ogle led the charge by throwing for 197 yards and four touchdowns while completing 79.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Da monte Sinclair, who picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Montgomery Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Jacksonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage. Montgomery Catholic has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 404.3 total yards per game. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've been even better at 415.2 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
