The Real Life Christian Academy Raptors will challenge the First Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row dating back to last season, Real Life Christian Academy turned things around against All Saints' Academy on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Saints.
Shane Riley made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Riley was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Muniz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Noel Vicente, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, First Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against City of Life Christian Academy as First Academy made off with an 18-5 victory. 18 seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
First Academy got a massive performance out of Cason Cherry, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Cherry has been hot recently, having also posted three or more hits the last three times he's played. Miguel Boque was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
First Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
First Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Real Life Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Real Life Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 21-0 defeat they got from First Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Real Life Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
