The Walsenburg Panthers posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 67-32 victory over Hoehne on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Walsenburg.
Elton Chavez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 23 rebounds. He also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nino Cisneros, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Walsenburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Hoehne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walsenburg will take on Fowler at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Fowler is ranked 124th, while Walsenburg is ranked 136th). As for Hoehne, they will be playing at home against Crowley County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Crowley County will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
