Antonian Prep is a perfect 9-0 against Savio since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Apaches will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Antonian Prep has 15 straight wins, Savio has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Antonian Prep is returning to their home field after beating Devine on theirs, despite the fact Devine has dominated at home this season. The Apaches blew past the Warhorses 10-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Apaches, who have now won 17 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ale Santoyo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trinity Silva, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Arianna Medina was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Antonian Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .455 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Savio fell victim to Antonian Prep and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They lost 23-0 to the Apaches.
Antonian Prep pushed their record up to 22-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.1 runs over those games. As for Savio, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Antonian Prep's way against Savio when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Antonian Prep made off with a 23-0 victory. Do the Apaches have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
