The Phoenix Spartans suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2023 on Wednesday. Their tough 49-27 loss to Chalmette might stick with them for a while. Phoenix's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamiya Addison, who scored nine points.
Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Chalmette, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
Phoenix's road trip will continue as they head out to face Belle Chasse at 11:00 a.m. on January 27th. Chalmette won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against John Ehret at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. John Ehret will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Chalmette is ranked 81st).
