Basketball Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Piles Up the Points Against Arete Prep

Leading Edge Academy - GEC won against Chandler Prep last Friday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Arete Prep CHARGERS 61-34. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the CHARGERS are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Corynn Foster out in front who went 8 for 12 en route to 21 points along with six assists and six steals. The match was Foster's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shailey Imbert, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 15 points and seven steals.

Foster wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Leading Edge Academy - GEC was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points. As for Arete Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leading Edge Academy - GEC will face off against Gilbert Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arete Prep has already played their next contest (against Maryvale Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
