When it comes to explaining why Big Valley Christian lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Cohen Boone. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eiler Boone, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Venture Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcos Rosales led the charge by scoring 23 points along with three steals. Mario Williams was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six assists and four steals.
Big Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Venture Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Big Valley Christian will take on Stone Ridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Stone Ridge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Venture Academy, they will face off against Leroy Greene Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Leroy Greene Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1045th, while Venture Academy is ranked 178th).
