Last Friday, West Noble lost to Garrett on the road by a decisive 43-28 margin. West Noble has not had much luck with Garrett recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alayna C delong, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that she grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia Mast, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, East Noble escaped with a win on Friday against Leo by the margin of a single free throw, 33-32.
East Noble's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ellisyn Will, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Payton Quake was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals and two blocks.
West Noble's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-18. As for East Noble, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: West Noble have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 24.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like East Noble struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 22.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
West Noble couldn't quite finish off East Noble in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 49-47. Thankfully for West Noble, Bree Walmsley (who scored 25 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
