Baseball Recap: River Ridge/Scales Mound Takes a Loss

River Ridge/Scales Mound was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Galena Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-6 back in March.

Kaden Duerr was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

River Ridge/Scales Mound's record now sits at 7-12. As for Galena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

While River Ridge/Scales Mound had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
