Alexander and Chapel Hill are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Alexander Cougars' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Chapel Hill Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Chapel Hill took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alexander, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Alexander didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Kell, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexander to victory, but perhaps none more so than Meghan Ritchie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Italiano, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Chapel Hill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-40 to Hiram. While losing is never fun, Chapel Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Hiram is ranked 15th).
Emahni Chambliss was Chapel Hill's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Alexander's victory bumped their season record to 2-1 while Kell's defeat dropped theirs to 0-4.
Alexander came up short against Chapel Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 50-46. Can Alexander avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
