After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bolton, the Marksville Tigers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took down Caldwell Parish 50-36. That's another feather in the cap for Marksville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Marksville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Laylla Dorsey out in front who scored 22 points along with two steals. Dorsey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Vanessa Francisco was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Marksville back to even at 6-6. As for Caldwell Parish, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.
Marksville will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Buckeye is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Caldwell Parish will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bunkie has seven straight wins, the Spartans have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
