Football Recap: Anthony White Key Part of Team Effort in Marauders Win

Maclay hadn't done well against North Florida Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Marauders put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 43-20 win. Considering the Marauders have won five contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Maclay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony White led the charge by rushing for 117 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Tucker Poppell did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 168 receiving yards.

Maclay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ford Brown and Blake Brannen.

Maclay pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for North Florida Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Maclay will take on Deerfield-Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 7.2 points per game this season, so the Marauders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for North Florida Christian, they will host Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Seahawks have averaged an impressive 31.9 points per game this season.
