Horizon is 9-1 against Legacy since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Horizon Hawks will look to defend their home court against the Legacy Lightning at 5:00 p.m. Horizon will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
On Tuesday, Horizon faced Fort Collins in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Horizon secured a 49-45 W over Fort Collins.
Morgan Ives was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaitlin Schumann, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Legacy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Poudre on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 40-34 win. The win was just what Legacy needed coming off of a 58-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Horizon's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Horizon came up short against Legacy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 56-52. Thankfully for Horizon, Madison Gage (who scored 28 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
