Carlsbad came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Hobbs Eagles as they made off with a 13-3 victory. Considering the Cavemen/Cavegirls have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carlsbad's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hobbs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
